La Seu d'Urgell airport, officially Pirineus - la Seu d'Urgel airport and also known as Pirineus-Andorra airport is an airport facility owned by the Government of Catalonia and hosts regular commercial flights and general aviation emergency. It is located in the comarca of Alt Urgell, south of la Seu d'Urgell (Catalonia) and 12 km south of Andorra, in the mountain of Ensiula between the towns of Montferrer i Castellbò and Ribera d'Urgellet.

The airport opened in 1982 but was closed to commercial traffic in 1984 and was used only by private aeroplanes until 2008, when the airport was purchased by the Catalan government and closed pending its redevelopment and reopening as a commercial airport.[1][2]

In 2008, the Institut Català del Sòl (a department of the Catalan government) bought 85% of the airport's land to create the Pirineus–Andorra airport.[2]

In 2009, a contract was awarded to Acsa Sorigué for the redevelopment work that will lead to the reopening of the airport.[3]

The airport reopened on June 4, 2010.[4]
